How We Keep Parents Up To Date

At Quirky Kid, we understand the importance of involving parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process. This article discusses how we keep families and carers in the loop about what’s been happening in the child’s sessions.

How we communicate with parents

At Quirky Kid, we recognise the significance of involving you in your child's therapeutic process. We want to explain how we keep you informed and involved in your child's progress.

After your initial appointments, your child's psychologist will create a personalised care plan tailored to your child's needs. This plan will include recommendations for assessments or interventions. It will also involve scheduling one or more parent catch-up calls with your child's psychologist, typically around 30 minutes. During these calls, you can discuss your child's progress, ask questions, or raise new concerns.

We understand our psychologists are busy, and scheduling specific times for parent catch-up calls is necessary. This ensures that you can stay informed about what has happened in the sessions, review your child's progress and make further recommendations.

At Quirky Kid, we prioritise therapeutic due diligence and your child's privacy. For this reason, our psychologists cannot provide email summaries or engage in email exchanges with parents. Additionally, to preserve a healthy therapeutic relationship, we may be unable to provide feedback to parents immediately after a child's session or while the child is present. Therefore, we recommend booking parent-only sessions to ensure you receive the necessary information to support your child.

Overall, we want to make the therapeutic process as transparent and informative as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're always here to help you and your child.

Please be aware that all consultations with a Quirky Kid psychologist are billed per our fee schedule.

Thank you for entrusting us with the care of your child. We hope our communication plan helps you feel more informed and involved in your child's therapeutic journey.
