Hardship Discount Policy

At Quirky Kid, we understand that some families may face financial hardship.

To support access while keeping our services sustainable, we offer a limited hardship discount under the following conditions:

Eligibility

Families may apply if they are experiencing hardship, such as:

  • Holding a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.
  • Receiving Centrelink income support payments (e.g. Parenting Payment, JobSeeker, Disability Support Pension).
  • Experiencing sudden financial strain (e.g. job loss, illness, bereavement, or natural disaster impact).

Discount Details

  • Time-limited availability: Discounts apply only to appointments scheduled between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
  • Maximum number of sessions: Up to 10 sessions per family.
  • Concession amount: Up to 15% discount on the out-of-pocket fee after the Medicare rebate.

Example: For a $368 session, after the $98.95 Medicare rebate, the out-of-pocket cost is $269.05. With a 15% hardship discount applied, the fee reduces to $228.69.

Process

  • Families complete a short application form and may be asked to provide supporting evidence (e.g. concession card, Centrelink statement).
  • Applications are reviewed confidentially by our management team.
  • Discounts are temporary and cannot be extended beyond the 10-session cap without re-application.

Our Commitment

Australian allied-health practices, Medicare concession principles, and community equity standards inform this approach. It ensures families in need can access support while keeping our clinic sustainable.
